Textastic has matured into a first-class code editor
Alexander Blach did developers a big favor by creating the first serious code editor for iOS. The early OS X versions were solid but lacking some crucial features (for me least). Those gaps have largely been filled now. Here are some outstanding features:
- Excellent code completion
- Emmet support
- compatibiliity with Textmate syntax definitions and themes
- symbols support better than some much more expensive editors I have
In the past I’ve used Textastic when I was stuck with nothing but an iPad or for quick editing jobs, but I can honestly say now that if it was the only code editor I had, I’d be fine. Highly recommended whether you’re a sometimes or serious developer.
